Before we can communicate with your computer, you need to install a small remote access program that you download from a company called LogMeIn. No specialist knowledge is required on your part.

The software is entirely free of charge but you can upgrade to a more sophisticated version - LogMeIn Pro - if you want to take advantage of its enhanced features. This will cost you $69.95 a year (about £35).

Please let us know when you have installed the software by submitting our contact form. We will then send you an introduction pack explaining our terms of business and we will test the connection to make sure it works properly.

Your computer's unique IP address will be transmitted through a secure beacon and will be registered with our support system for future use.

If you are connecting with a laptop, it will recognised by our system even if it is plugged into someone else's internet connection. Wherever you are in the world we can support you.

The LogMeIn system also has benefits for you.

Once the client software is installed, you will be able access your own PC from any other computer anywhere in the world so long as it is switched on and connected to the internet. You have a secure login name and password that only you can use.

When you connect, your desktop will be exactly the same as it is when you're sitting in front of it. You can run applications, collect your email, transfer files - even those that are too large to email - and you can print documents to any local printer without installing any special printer drivers.
